Our Indooroopilly team have done an outstanding job of this major renovation.

This house was originally built in 1938, it was time for major alteration and facelift to bring it back to life. Being a character house, a full demolition was not an option.

The house was raised, slid to the left and then restumped. The following works were then undertaken:

A massive transformation has taken place on the Gold Coast! A typical Queensland home has been given new life by the Smithy team. Some of the work included a carport extension including new driveway, boundary walls and carport timber partition screen & gate. Front & back Timber Merbau deck/patio with Merbau battened laserlight roof, complete with LED lighting. Cedar Bi-Fold doors and windows at front and Merbau posts & glass fence to pool. The transformation is absolutely stunning! Our clients wanted to renovate their existing deck into a beautiful new deck and pergola, so they could entertain friends and family all year round and in all weather conditions! We used a Silvertop Ash hardwood for the decking and I'm sure you would agree, the finished product looks fantastic. We swapped their french doors for a more modern sliding stacker door which open the home up and provides a seamless flow between indoors and out. It had lost its vigor through no fault of its own but was offered new life by the Smithy team. This week's reno of the week is a Backyard Blitz of a Highhate Hill property in Ascot. Let's face it, a large part of being able to enjoy the warm Australian summer is having a backyard barbeque and deck/lounge patio area in the backyard. Smith & Sons Renovations & Extensions have now opened in the beautiful Brisbane suburb of Morningside.

Franchise owners Carwyn and Susan Butler have been proud residents of the Morningside area for around 13 years.

“I have been building all over Brisbane for about 14 years, so this gives me a good amount of experience with the different types of renovations that happen in the area,” Carwyn said.

James is married to Judy, and has three great children, Greg being one of them, who has his own three children as well. James has been involved in the building game for around 40 years now, giving him the experience necessary to do a first class job on any home renovations. Damien and Anna Hyde, who have been living and building in the Cairns region for around 7 years, have recently joined the Smith & Sons fold.

“We just love the Cairns climate and lifestyle”, said Damien when asked why they consider Cairns to be the place the live for them.

Smith & Sons has expanded its operations further afield in Queensland with the addition of a Mackay franchise.

Local builders Brett & Leah Hargreaves have joined the Smith & Sons team and are looking forward to a bright future. Moving to Mackay a few years ago, Brett and Leah fell in love with Mackay.

The Momentum Energy Illawarra Business Awards are recognised as the largest regional business awards within NSW, and provides an opportunity for businesses to highlight their hard work and achievements within the Illawarra business community.
