A Timeless Refresh for a Classic Cairns Home

This renovation transformed a typical Cairns block home into a fresh, modern space tailored to suit a young working couple looking for a more functional and inviting home. Like many homes built by volume builders in the area, the property originally featured a very standard, cookie-cutter layout with little personality or flow. The clients wanted to modernise and refresh the home while creating spaces that felt timeless, practical and comfortable for everyday living.

The renovation included a complete remodel of the main bathroom, along with updates to the ensuite, laundry and kitchen. While the existing kitchen flooring remained, every other element was carefully considered to achieve a cohesive and contemporary finish. A neutral palette of whites and soft tones was selected throughout the home to create a calm and timeless atmosphere that would remain stylish for years to come.

One of the standout features of the project was the redesigned bathroom. By reworking the layout, the space became significantly more functional and welcoming, with improved flow and a much more open feel. Beaumont Tiles’ Dwell Travertine Silver floor tiles and Gastone Carrara White Gloss wall tiles brought texture and elegance, while fixtures from Reece Plumbing added a refined finishing touch.

In the kitchen, Dekton Marina porcelain benchtops paired beautifully with Laminex Ghost Gum cabinetry, complemented by Bosch appliances supplied through Harvey Norman. The completed renovation delivered a seamless blend of style and practicality, breathing new life into a once-standard home and creating a space perfectly suited to the clients’ lifestyle.
