Coastal Home Transformation

Another successful project for the books! Smith & Sons Gold Coast transformed a mature couple's coastal home, breathing new life into it. The clients, avid beach lovers with a particular passion for surfing, sought to revitalize their living space by creating an open, airy atmosphere that reflected their lifestyle and aesthetic preferences.

The project's primary focus was to reimagine the heart of the home - the kitchen and living area. By removing a dividing wall, we created a seamless, open-plan space that now serves as the perfect hub for entertaining and relaxation. The newly renovated kitchen boasts a stunning sage green laminate for the lower cabinetry, paired with sleek chrome Nerang fixtures. This colour palette, inspired by the coastal surroundings, brings a fresh and calming ambiance to the space.

Extending beyond the kitchen, we undertook a comprehensive renovation of the bathrooms and laundry room. The same chrome Nerang fixtures were used throughout these spaces, ensuring a cohesive design language that flows effortlessly from room to room. New robe sliders were installed in the bedrooms, providing ample storage solutions while maintaining a clean, uncluttered aesthetic.

One of the most impactful aspects of this renovation was the flooring transformation. We recommended and installed Opal Hybrid flooring from the ground level, on the stairs, and through the kitchen. This durable and stylish flooring option not only unifies the space but also stands up to the wear and tear of sandy feet and surfboards. For the middle floor, we sanded and refinished the existing timber flooring, bringing out its natural beauty and warmth.

During the renovation process, we discovered a roof leak that was causing water damage to the frames. Rather than waiting for their insurance company, which could have significantly delayed the project, the client gave us the go-ahead to repair the leak and replace the damaged areas so we could install new sheets and ceiling plaster. This proactive approach saved our clients both time and money, demonstrating our commitment to going above and beyond.

The project also included several smaller but equally important updates. We installed new air conditioning vent grills. A custom-built bar area was added, perfect for the couple's entertaining needs and relaxed coastal lifestyle.
