Home Extension

We received a call from a young family of five, who were ready to give their beloved home a not-so-so-little makeover. This single-storey house, built in the 1950s, held the potential to be transformed into a functional space with a modern twist! We understand a home renovation can be a daunting and expensive process. That's why we provided a comprehensive consultation with our clients to ensure we had a practical solution that met their requirements without breaking the bank. Once we found the right solution for them, we were ready to start the renovation with our clients rest assured that they were in safe hands and their budgets intact.

Given the age of the home, we knew we might stumble upon a few snags along the way, like asbestos lurking in the shadows. But not to worry, we safely dealt with that, and off we went on our reno!

Our client's had already tackled the only bathroom and kitchen, so our main priority was to deliver a new bedroom for their youngest, Tom, who was quite the little artist and had a knack for drawing pictures of everyone on-site. The second area on our client's list was a new parents' retreat to escape the happy chaos.

The plan of attack? Extend to the side of the house to provide the additional bedroom to the corner of the home. So, we rolled up our sleeves and bid farewell to a small section of the home to preform the extension. We poured a fresh concrete slab, framed and joined it to the original home's existing structure and roof. Once the slab was complete, we could begin the fun part, bringing our client's vision to life!

As you step into the new wing of the house, hybrid flooring guides you through a hallway, filtered with light, courtesy of the new windows installed. From there, we entered the parents' only quarters – the lack of space is now a thing of the past! But what's a retreat without a master walk-in robe and ensuite? The client's plan was to gain a new bathroom that oozed with functionality and style, and we did just that!

Given that this space was just for them, they decided to bring some dimension and fun into the room. At first glimpse, you can't help but notice the real winner of this space – the encaustic-look floor tiles, which pack a visual punch while paying respect to the home's era. Paired with a heritage-styled white wooden-panelled vanity and pristine white floor-to-ceiling tiles, this room now feels larger than life, creating a charm and as promised, a genuine retreat.
