Home Makeover

This complete home makeover for some wonderful clients embodies the relaxed, breezy atmosphere that coastal living represents. This project consisted of transforming the whole home to achieve a light and airy ambience, a neutral colour palette and natural elements that speak of a modern seaside lifestyle. 

Our builders made large scale changes that included a total exterior transformation, new windows, added storage, walk in wardrobe, ensuite, kitchen, dining room, home office and outdoor entertainment deck that integrates perfectly into the existing backyard. From the outside, this stylish home reaches skyward with clean, sleek lines, overlooking the stunning ocean views. The owners can try out their culinary skills in a modern kitchen, where a pristine white palette, earthy-toned wood cabinets, sleek chrome appliances, and ample natural light pouring through large windows converge to create a captivating space centred around a stylish island.

Relaxing after a busy day is a dream in the living room, filled with plush couches, loads of large comfy cushions and a deep-pile carpet. Mounted elegantly on the wall, the television takes centre stage. A contemporary wood-burning fireplace, seamlessly integrated into the design, offers a warm and cosy vibe, perfect for a winter’s night. The home is structured on multiple levels with modern wooden staircases offering access to upper and lower levels. Meals are enjoyed upstairs, where the floor-to-ceiling glass windows look out over the ocean. The master bedroom is finished in lovely soft tones of pink and blue, with carefully selected wood accents. In keeping with the rest of the home, one entire wall is a glass window offering more of the stunning seaside views. 

Work and play are an integral part of coastal living, and the home office offers a wall-mounted L-shaped surface for computers, large bookshelves, and cabinets for additional storage. On the wall is the surfboard waiting for the ‘Surf’s-Up’ call. Throughout the home, new lighting, paintwork, and texture have been added to highlight and contrast with the unique artwork that has sentimental value to the clients. 

The highlight of the renovation is the entertainer’s dream covered outdoor patio which can be used all year round. The floors are clad with wooden boards and the space is enclosed by a stylish fence. This deck is large enough to hold a couch, coffee table, an eight-seater garden table and the mandatory barbeque.
