A Seamless Deck Transformation for a Cherished Home

Our latest renovation project was a rewarding experience, working once again with a lovely couple who had previously entrusted us with their home improvements. As repeat clients, they knew they could count on us to bring their vision to life. Their charming cottage-style home, well-built and full of character, had served them well over the years, but they wanted to enhance their outdoor living space. The primary focus of this renovation was to extend and improve their deck, creating a more spacious and inviting area where they could relax, entertain, and enjoy the beauty of their surroundings.

To achieve this, we installed brand-new Merbau decking (140 x 19), ensuring durability and a timeless aesthetic that seamlessly blended with the existing structure. The addition of handrails, constructed with pine featuring a bevelled and grooved top rail and a sturdy bottom rail, provided both safety and style. Stairs were also incorporated to improve accessibility, making the transition from the deck to the garden effortless.

While there were no significant structural challenges to overcome, meticulous attention was given to ensuring the new materials matched the home’s original charm. The result is a beautifully expanded deck that not only complements the house but also enhances the overall functionality of the outdoor space. Seeing the clients’ delight as they stepped onto their improved deck for the first time was undoubtedly our favourite moment of the project. Their satisfaction reaffirms why we love what we do—creating spaces that elevate the way our clients live in their homes.
