A Harmonious Haven for a Growing Family
For this renovation, our team had the pleasure of transforming a modest property into a dynamic, multifunctional sanctuary for a young, music-loving family. The clients, a busy working couple with two energetic boys and a dog, dreamed of a home that could support their lifestyle, passions, and the practicalities of growing children.
Originally, the property featured an old carport and a garage repurposed for living space. The layout lacked cohesion and did not reflect the family's evolving needs. Their vision was clear: a dedicated music room, a serene parents' retreat, and practical, stylish storage and parking solutions at street level.
Our work began with converting the garage into a tranquil master bedroom complete with a walk-in robe and ensuite, offering the parents a much-needed escape. We then created a striking new extension, a purpose-built music room perfect for guitars, drums, and family jam sessions. This space opens onto an expansive new deck through stacker doors, ideal for relaxing or entertaining. Below, we constructed generous storage space and a sleek new carport, all nestled into the gentle slope of the block.
Despite the challenges posed by poor soil conditions and wet weather delaying early stages, the team persevered with meticulous groundwork, including multiple piers and slab beams to ensure stability. The aesthetic touches, such as the fine texture cladding, Bradnams windows, and the innovative EVA Last ‘Pioneer’ decking, add warmth and visual appeal, particularly near the entry.
Our favourite moment? Hearing how much the family adore their new deck, proof that thoughtful design and quality workmanship truly elevate everyday living.
