Perched near the beach, this once-dated 1960s two-bedroom, one-bathroom unit has been completely reimagined into a stylish and functional coastal retreat. The owners, seeking to modernise the space for both personal enjoyment and Airbnb potential, entrusted us with a full home renovation that balanced practicality with a fresh, contemporary aesthetic.
The transformation was extensive. A single garage was cleverly repurposed into a spacious master bedroom, complete with a walk-in robe and ensuite, adding a level of comfort and privacy that the original layout lacked. Throughout the home, Abode Coastal Crescent Head Blackbutt hybrid flooring was installed, lending warmth and durability, while the bathrooms feature elegant OmniStone Beige tiles that create a soft, natural feel, enhancing the sense of relaxation and luxury. Clean lines and a light, airy atmosphere were central to the design, with walls painted in Lexicon Quarter and a feature wall in the upstairs living space adding a subtle touch of Dulux Lady Fern.
Not without its challenges, the renovation required adaptability. Midway through, the clients opted to shift the location of the structural steel after installation to better align with their vision. The staircase design also underwent modifications to enhance flow and functionality. Despite these changes, the project was executed with precision, resulting in a seamless blend of form and function.
Polished chrome tapware and Malmo pendant lights over the kitchen island complement the understated elegance of the interiors. Monument aluminium frame windows and spotted gum cladding ensure the home remains in harmony with its coastal surroundings. A thoughtfully designed outdoor shower and bath area further enhance the beachside lifestyle.
With its sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere, this renovation showcases the potential of smart design and quality craftsmanship. The result is a beautifully modern retreat that is as practical as it is visually striking, ready to be enjoyed for years to come.
