A Luxury Renovation Worth Waiting For
For this busy young family of five, home is where the heart is, but where that home was had been questioned. These lovely clients had previously trusted us to complete a major extension to their indoor and outdoor living spaces in 2018. While that renovation transformed the way they lived, they had chosen more budget-conscious finishes for the ensuite, something that they came to regret. Years later, the family had considered renovating their weekender and eventually relocate to the Tablelands. However, after reassessing those plans, they decided to stay in Cairns and instead invest in transforming their existing home into the luxurious sanctuary they had always envisioned.
We completely renovated the dated and cramped bathroom, ensuite, walk-in robe and laundry. The master suite was reconfigured to create a luxurious ensuite with a generous walk-in shower, double vanity and heated towel rails. As the ensuite reclaimed floor area from the previous walk-in-robe, we added a stylish shaker-door style built-in wardrobe with integrated lighting.
The family bathroom was refreshed with a walk-in shower replacing the unused bath, full-height tiling and a reduced window size to enhance privacy. The laundry was transformed with custom cabinetry, integrated appliances, a pressed metal splashback, new floor tiles and a cavity sliding door to maximise functionality and create a more practical workspace. Throughout the renovation, warm timber tones, soft sage green features, grey tiles and elegant champagne Meir tapware came together to create a timeless and sophisticated palette.
One of the most rewarding moments came at handover. Having complete confidence in our team, the clients resisted peeking behind the dust protection throughout the build, choosing instead to experience the finished spaces all at once. Their excitement and delight at the final reveal made this already special project even more memorable.
