    Business Owner & Sales Manager

    With over 21 years in the building industry, James brings a wealth of experience in sales and construction management, backed by a strong foundation as a qualified carpenter.

    After leaving school, he completed a carpentry apprenticeship and has since built a career focused on helping everyday people create practical, functional spaces that enhance the way they live.

    For James, the most rewarding part of the job is seeing a project evolve from an initial concept on paper to a completed build, and the satisfaction that comes from delivering a result that exceeds a client's expectations. He believes successful projects are built on clear communication, well-established systems, and a collaborative approach with both clients and the team.

    Outside of work, James enjoys spending quality time with his family. Whether it's taking the kids fishing, cheering on the Sydney Swans at a home game, or escaping the city for a camping trip, he values making the most of the outdoors. He also enjoys bike riding, kicking the footy, and following the AFL.

    Project Manager

    With 24 years of experience in the building industry, Mark brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and passion to every project. His interest in building began at a young age through a love of carpentry and working with timber. After completing his apprenticeship and becoming a qualified tradesman, he went on to earn his builder's licence, building his career from the ground up.

    Specialising in project management, he oversees every stage of the building process and takes pride in transforming a set of plans into a beautifully finished home. Seeing a project come to life and creating something tangible that families will enjoy for years to come is what makes the job so rewarding.

    The trust clients place in him to bring their vision to life is one of the aspects he values most. Helping families create their dream home drives his commitment to quality craftsmanship, clear communication, and delivering an exceptional building experience.

    Outside of work, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife Meg, and their two daughters. Whether it's grabbing a coffee, heading to the beach, or spending time at the local park, family is at the heart of his weekends. When he finds the time, he also enjoys playing football and catching a few waves.

    With more than 43 years in the building industry, Brett brings a wealth of experience, technical knowledge, and leadership to every project. His career began as an apprentice carpenter with his father's building firm, where he gained a strong foundation in the trade before establishing his own successful building business in the early 1990s. Twelve years ago, Brett joined the Smith & Sons team, bringing his expertise to the Hornsby/Turramurra franchise.

    Today, Brett's focus is on leading the business and overseeing projects from concept to completion. Drawing on decades of hands-on building experience, he provides strategic direction, financial management, planning, and quality control, ensuring every renovation and extension is delivered to the highest standard.

    Brett's passion for building comes from seeing a vision become reality. He enjoys transforming ideas and plans into beautifully finished homes and finds great satisfaction in helping clients achieve their dream spaces. Equally rewarding is mentoring the next generation of builders, watching apprentices develop their skills and grow into confident leaders within the industry.

    Outside of work, Brett and his wife Fiona work together in the business and enjoy travelling and taking on adventure sports in their spare time. He also enjoys outdoor activities and sport, which provide a welcome balance to the demands of running a busy business.

    After more than four decades in the industry, Brett remains passionate about building and values the relationships formed with clients, tradespeople, and the wider team. He considers it a privilege to have witnessed the industry's evolution and the continual improvement of building standards throughout his career.

    With a career in the building industry spanning nearly five decades, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and practical experience to every project.

    Since starting in the industry in 1976, Paul has built an impressive career that began in building materials sales before progressing through marketing, middle management, and senior leadership roles. His passion for helping homeowners eventually led him to transition into building and building design.

    Paul's expertise lies in building design, sales, and marketing, with a particular passion for creating thoughtful design solutions that meet each client's unique needs. He finds immense satisfaction in taking a project from concept to completion, solving challenges along the way, and seeing the finished result come to life.

    Since beginning her journey in 2011, Fiona has developed a deep appreciation for the building industry. She enjoys the variety and challenges it brings, describing it as both fascinating and complex. One of the most rewarding aspects of her role is working alongside terrific people and contributing to successful building projects.

    Outside of work, Fiona enjoys spending quality time with her family, whether it's catching up over meals or travelling together on holidays. She also loves bushwalking and exploring new destinations whenever she has the opportunity.
