Bundall, Gold Coast | Home Renovation & Extension
Undertaking a significant overhaul of a 1970's split-level home was no small feat. This comprehensive project involved relocating and expanding the kitchen and living areas to create a seamless indoor-outdoor living space, complete with an outdoor kitchen adjoining the pool, spa, and patio area. Additionally, we undertook the complete refurbishment of three bathrooms, a powder room, and every other internal room. We didn't overlook the basement either, giving it a much-needed renovation. To enhance the property's appeal, we added a carport extension and fencing to the front.
The transformation of this once barely livable and neglected home into a contemporary waterfront masterpiece was nothing short of extraordinary. While we retained some of the original features, the home underwent a luxurious redesign, extension, and refurbishment. Upon entering, you're immediately captivated by the soaring cathedral ceiling with painted-white exposed beams, beautifully contrasted against the rich hardwood blackbutt flooring finished with hard wax oil. Due to the split-level design of the home, there are multiple staircases throughout that are also finished in blackbutt flooring allowing for a seamless transition from room to room.
The kitchen extension presents modern luxury, featuring handle-free two-pack cabinets, 40mm Quantum Quartz Angelico Palazzo stone benchtops and splashbacks, and a stunning 3m island bench with an integrated wine fridge. Large commercial-grade stacker doors open to the tiled patio, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living. The extension of the cathedral ceiling in the lounge area extends to the pool's edge, flooding the home with natural light through raked ceiling windows. Extensive structural steel was utilised to support this extension, seamlessly integrated to maintain aesthetic continuity, creating a flow that's as effortless as it is stylish.
Externally, hardwood feature walls were added to enhance the home's unique design, complementing the all-white facade. A double carport with boundary walls, a side entry gate for security, and an exposed aggregate driveway completed the external transformation.
This project marked our largest home renovation project our Smith & Sons Gold Coast builders have accomplished to date. From a house that was far from welcoming, with a leaky roof and neglected corners, it has been transformed into a contemporary waterfront gem and we're thrilled to report that our clients were absolutely thrilled with the result!
