Last year we required a granny flat to be built at our second property, where two of our children, and two young grandchildren, reside. We chose Smith and Sons after reading information online, showing them to be transparent, friendly, and informative, with their completed jobs looking fantastic.
Damien, Anna, Mitch, Mattie, and the rest of the team transformed a basic Besser brick box into an incredibly inviting bachelor unit, which now blends seamlessly with the house alongside it.
The process and outcome were even better than we could have imagined. So, we engaged them again to renovate our outdated bathroom at the same property. The result was as fabulous as the granny flat experience.
More recently we had our bathroom and separate toilet renovated, after much procrastination. We live in a small 1945 Queenslander house, with a chatty, inquisitive four-year-old. We wondered how we would manage with extra people working in the house. My worries were unfounded, as once again the Smith and Sons team made it seem easy. Their lines of communication are always open, and they are punctual, hardworking, tidy, polite, and always cheerful.
Damien listened to our sometimes-difficult requests, and somehow found solutions, without any fuss. Our renovated bathroom looks amazing, and I still smile every time I go in there. It is such a beautiful space and has drawn many compliments from family and friends. Due to the incredible project management skills of the team, we also managed to have three ceiling vents and two timber-carved breeze panels installed around the same time. Both jobs were fiddly (due to the presence of asbestos, hidden framework in the walls below the cornices, and the handmade breeze panel measurements), yet completed in good time, without issue.
Our next project (with Smith and Sons, of course!) is the replacement of our front porch. It is well overdue for repair. It will be a challenging job, to retain the historical integrity, whilst creating a slightly larger space, for practicality and liveability. We have complete faith in Damien, Anna, and the team. Their professionalism and project management skills are second to none, and we couldn’t recommend them more highly.
